Superbowl Commercials - Written Assignment

Superbowl Commercials: Favorite 3
Doritos:
I liked the Doritos commercial because how it attracted to emotions by reuniting the puppy and its dad, but was also funny because the directors of the commercial were expecting more from them while they enjoyed a bag of Doritos. The named the father dog Doritos and the puppy Nacho to go with the flavor chips the people in the commercial were currently eating.
Esurance:
I enjoyed this commercial because when a women goes to pick up her prescription she meets a famous person that is pretending to be a pharmacist. When talking to him he says how he is sorta Greg because they have many similar experience. He then gives her a random bottle of medication and makes her take them. It was a smart concept to bring the point that Esurance will make sure you only pay for what is for you.
Snickers:
The snickers commercials are known for being very funny and creative. This one is no exception. When they used a scene from the Brady Bunch movie and use Danny Trejo as the daughter who had her nose broken, he wants to be violent and get payback on the brother. The mother gives him a snickers and the daughters returns to be all sweet.

PD Online - Written Assignments

Star Teacher: Jessamyn Lovell

This article is about a teacher in central New York with a rough childhood in which she experienced a father who worked odd jobs (and eventually left the family) along with a mom who had to raise her along with 4 other children. Lovell says survival was the main concern for her, and going to school and doing the correct & moral thing were more of a secondary concern rather than one of the most important ones. The only thing lovell's father left was a black and white camera, from which her love of photography sprouted. She began by photographing everyday activities in her house, then moved along to nature, and eventually moved on along to photographing public events and pictures that would capture a certain feeling or emotion. Eventually she became a freelance photographer, and when that wasn't enough to be self-sufficient, she started studying to teach photography, although her initial goal was to become a professional photographer. She ended up teaching photography, and helping steer kids in the inner city in the correct direction to become economically self sufficient.

San Diego Landscapes - Written Assignment

I really enjoy this website because it captures, in picture, the San Diego culture and skyline. It shows the highlights of San Diego, such as the beaches and Balboa park, along with many others in different forms which gives us a full perspective. It shows us Joshua Trees in the nearby inland empire, the Del Mar fair, the church missions in Point Loma. Although this website is most likely heavy with photoshop, I think it gives us a good view on the San Diego culture and its highlights, and shows us some local places we could visit that we may not have heard of before.

Inspiring Teacher - Written Assignment

I had a teacher in 6th grade named Mr Galvan who pushed me to do better in school because I wasn't doing well. I didn't understand math and he saw how I was struggling and pushed me to learn it because without it I wouldn't do good in school. Then I went afterschool with a couple of other kids to learn about math during my free time because I really needed to catch up and my parents made me do it either way. I learned the concepts of math I was missing, including some vital ones, and managed to catch up to my classmates and be ready in time for the next grade. Until that point, he was the best teacher I had yet, and he taught me the importance of education and making the most of every school year.
