Large aperture gives a shallow depth of field and allows for fast shutter speeds, while small aperture creates a greater depth of field and slower shutter speed. I also learned that JPEG stands for Joint Photographic Experts Group. To complete an assignment I must...

Devian Art Critique - Written Assignments
This photo is good because it is taken at sunset and has a grainy lens from the sand at the beach. The woman is holding a shell, further showing us the setting and the mood that the photo is setting for us.
This is a photo of a cloudy sunset or sunrise, with dark clouds in the background, presumably filled with rain or having just dropped a lot of rain. It gives off a very "calm after the storm" feeling and symbolizes a new beginning.
This is a picture of a piano which is only focused on some of the black keys, with the rest of the keys and background being blurry. This is cool because it helps us focus on a certain part of this picture instead of having to figure out what we're looking it, which can sometimes lead to photos being overlooked or overanalyzed.

Classmate Critique - Written Assignment
Classmate - Andre Rodriguez
This photo is good because it shows the landscape of Las Vegas, and is more especially cool because it is taken at night and Vegas is only lit up by its own lights. This photo could be better if he focused in more instead of trying to catch a landscape, and if the camera wasn't as shaky it could help reduce the amount of blurriness in this photo.
This photo focuses on the band director conducting a song. It shows three band students following along to the director's beat. This picture is good as it focuses on the surroundings of the director, but the director himself is blurry. This could be better if we took the time to focus and make sure all subjects in the photos came out clear.
This picture is very good seeing how it was taken in mid air, and captures the details of the subject and its surroundings clearly. This picture, however, can also be improved. The two men on the bottom could've been easily avoided from being in the picture, or cropped out later. Overall, however, this is a very good picture.
